Hey Nick, it was great to have you.
In case anyone might misread your entry here, when you say, “This demo was doomed, for some odd reason, as every other time…”, you’re meaning to say that the talk (as you’ve tried to give it in the past) has been doomed, but that all those issues were NOT a problem this time, right?
Too bad you may have felt rushed in the end. If you ever wanted to do a part 2, to spread out the compressed parts from the end, I’d always welcome it. I’ll let you decide if that makes sense, and will understand if you think its ok as is.
If you decide perhaps in the future to do it again on your own and record the full 2 hours, then of course we could add that to the UGTV repository (carehart.org/ugtv/). Thanks again for coming on.
Can you use BlazeDS instead of Livecycle?
@Chris: For this particular example, you need to use LCDS (Express edition, which is FREE will work). The one component that they did not open-source from LCDS into BlazeDS was the Data Management part. Data Management is the secret-sauce that we used for this particular example.
Coming soon in Flex 4 (Gumbo) will be a client-side data management piece that will allow you to do the same thing without LCDS.
That’s great news! Thanks Nick! My New Year’s Resolution is to come to the CFUG and Flex Group meetings!
