Well, the Adobe MAX conference in Chicago is done and gone, and I finally have some time to go over my notes. One day, I’m sure I’ll publish them, but to summarize it up, it rocked. If you didn’t get a chance to go, you missed a blast! I got to meet up with lots of old friends, meet some new ones, and got to see some pretty neat sneak peaks. This was my first MAX conference (although I’ve been to many other conferences), so it was quite impressive.
Overall, you can see the direction Adobe is going — Flash is the platform for everything — desktops apps (through AIR), web apps (through AS3 and Flex), and on mobile platforms (Flash Lite). Everything presented on seemed to go back to that bread-and-butter platform. Having worked with the Flash platform for just a few years, I can say that it’s been a journey, but I think they are making a good move. Lets just hope they don’t do anything to hurt their ‘core’ business by integrating Flash too much into Photoshop, etc.
Now back to the drudgery of work… Hah!
